Mentoring Training Programs

Preparing Mentoring Participants

No matter what your organization needs or what kind of mentoring program you would like to implement, it's vital to ensure that everyone involved is fully prepared for the program. For any mentoring program to succeed, it's crucial that program administrators understand their roles in advising and leading program participants, that mentors understand how to communicate with and motivate mentees, and that mentees are prepared to take full advantage of the mentoring partnership program in advancing their skills and careers.

Mentoring training programs can help you ensure that this occurs.

Mentoring Training Programs for Every Mentoring Role

At Insala, our mentoring experts provide mentoring training for mentors, mentees, and administrators alike, so that everyone involved can get the most out of the mentoring program. All mentoring training programs can be customized and delivered in workshop and webinar formats that fit your specific needs.

Mentoring Certification Training

We also provide mentoring certifcation training to continue to take your mentoring program to the next level and get your mentors certified. This provides many benefits to your organization, increases the success of your program and ensures employees have the best developmental support from a certified mentor.

Mentor and Mentee Training: Types and Formats

We understand that training isn't one-size-fits all. The needs of your mentors and mentees, as well as your organization, come first for Insala, which is why we offer three different formats of mentoring training.

  • Full workshop: The full mentoring training workshop is delivered in person over either a half day or a full day. Mentors, mentees, and managers are engaged in interactive discussions, Q&A, and roleplay to prepare them to the fullest degree to take on their mentoring roles.

  • Facilitated webinar: The facilitated webinar is a good option for those who are working with scheduling constraints, but still wish to provide their mentoring participants with an interactive workshop, delivered remotely in webinar format.

  • Online mentor and mentee training modules: For those who want to provide mentoring tips and best practices resources to their mentors and mentees, our online mentoring training modules provide not only our knowledge base of videos and articles, but also competency assessments to ensure that your mentors are truly ready for their roles. Mentoring Training: Benefits

Training for Mentoring Program Administrators

  • Leadership - Mentoring program administrators are trained to lead and facilitate a successful mentoring initiative before the program starts.

  • Program Responsibilities - Conduct pre-program mentoring training to help program administrators understand their responsibilities, what they themselves gain from coordinating the program and supervising program participants, and what the mentors and mentees should gain from participating in the program.

Training Programs for Mentors and Mentees

  • Role Definition - Enable mentors and mentees to focus on each aspect of their role with confidence and vision by addressing any questions or concerns that mentors or mentees may have.

  • Program Tools - Create custom mentoring learning plans to serve as the basis of interaction between each mentor-mentee pair, and address any potential problems well before the program is implemented.

Mentoring Training for Managers and Supervisors

  • Role Definition - Ensure the success of the mentor-mentee relationship by defining for managers and supervisors their roles in the program, the nature of the mentor-mentee relationship, and the concept of mentoring overall.

I worked with Judy Corner of Insala to develop a customized mentoring program for International Paper. Judy provided a degree of confidence to the Chairman's Diversity Council as she presented a pragmatic, visionary, long term perspective on the benefits to be gained from Insala's program. Following the M.O.R.E. workshop, participants were surveyed on session effectiveness and Insala received a 100% favorable rating on the value of the day. I highly recommend Insala and believe they offer a distinct advantage to companies looking to advance their position in the ongoing war for talent.

This past winter was definitely remarkable. We found that the E-mail Broadcaster function is the easiest and fastest way to reach all our candidates to inform them of any changes in our office hours - including having to close due to inclement weather, delayed openings, or early closure. Additionally, we use this function to promote our seminars and workshops, and the career coaches can reach all of their candidates in one simple email. This tool is a tremendous asset.

We first started using EmploymentTalk™ in our practice in 2001, and have stuck with it ever since. What spurred us to stay on was both the professionalism and responsiveness of the Insala team, as well as the regular software upgrades we received, which ensured we had a cutting edge tool at any given time. Today, EmploymentTalk™ enables us to deliver a longer duration of outplacement services and thereby exceed our clients' expectations. As more and more organizations look to provide cost-effective, efficient and high-impact outplacement, we are able to meet their needs.

Our candidates are just blown away by the amount of research they get on specific companies and industries. Their ability to get REALLY good information, and MUCH MORE information than they typically could get on their own, and have it presented so quickly and effectively, is very powerful. It gives us a big sales and marketing advantage.

One way in which we demonstrate our commitment to employees is to provide opportunities for them to develop; mentoring is an important component of employee development in North America. Insala supported us in leveraging formal mechanisms and provided us best practices to launch a sustainable mentor program. The MORE Workshop was our pivotal starting point, strategizing with stakeholders to build a practical plan for implementation including communication, training, metrics, and more. The outcome has been a clear benefit for participants and for Solvay.
